Mirrorless Digital Cameras

The relatively new mirrorless category takes the large sensor of a dSLR and crams it into a body closer in size to a point-and-shoot digital camera. How do they do it? They take out the pentaprism or pentamirror. These are interchangeable lens cameras; though the picture quality is not quite up to the standard of dSLRs and there's no optical viewfinder, the compact body is a fair compromise in many hobbyists' eyes. The pool of lenses is still quite small, as these are new models. There are multiple mirrorless formats too, so that dilutes the pool even further. But as the format expands, this problem will fix itself, and camera enthusiasts will have even more options over their shooting options.
